I was incorrect when I flagged Citadel of Chaos as my introduction to the series; it was actually this book.
You know what they say: Recollection of the many permutations of Fighting Fantasy’s “[NOUN] of [SOMETHING HORRIBLE]” title formula is the first thing to go as one gets older.
On a more intimate note, the above fate served as the equivalent of a Smiths record for every doomed relationship I suffered through during my teen years.
